ABOUT SCOTTSDALE TWEET-UP 2013

Our mission for the Scottsdale Cigar Tweet-Up 2012  is to  introduce people to some awesome cigars, raise awareness about  the work of Cigar Rights of America, and support a local charity. We accomplish our mission through the support of cigar manufacturers and shop owner, and fellow Brothers and Sisters of the Leaf like yourselves, allowing us to contribute a percentage of  the proceeds to our chosen charity. As this is a non-profit event, we do not pocket a single penny and in some cases provide our own resources to ensure the event’s success.

Our connection with CRA is also vital in ensuring that our cigar smoking family knows about the fight that CRA is engaging on our behalf to allow us to continue to enjoy fine premium cigars.

For our 2013 event, we have chosen the 100 Club of Arizona as our charity donation recipient.  The 100 Club of Arizona is 501(c)(3) dedicated to standing behind the men and women who stand behind the badge.  For more than 40 years. the 100 Club has provided assistance to statewide public safety agencies, officers, firefighters, paramedics and their families through:

  • Financial assistance with serious injury, death and life altering situations occur
  • Emotional support and experiences services with peer support training
  • Safety enhancement stipends to purchase agency equipment and enhance the welfare those behind the badge
  • Scholarships for immediate family members of public safety

The 100 Club supports all city, county, state, federal and tribal public safety agencies, fire services, probation, corrections, parole and law enforcement departments who provide for the safety of the citizens of Arizona.  Benefits and support are also extended to officers and firefighters who are called to active duty military while still employed by a qualified public service agency.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

A casual relaxed format will offer attendees a variety of ways to engage with industry insiders and twitter/social media friends.  The event is aimed toward anyone who thinks of themselves as cigar aficionados.
